Tempi Train Crash: Relatives Respond to Floridis on Exhumation Requests
Share on:

Relatives of the victims of the Tempi train tragedy are responding to statements made by Justice Minister Giorgos Floridis regarding requests for the exhumation of bodies. The relatives deny claims of a lack of a clear request for identification, emphasizing that their request concerns the performance of forensic and anthropological examinations to reveal the chemical substance that caused the deaths of the victims.

According to the relatives, previous exhumation requests have been rejected by the investigating authorities in Larissa. In the extrajudicial statement sent by Panos Routsi and Maria Karystianou, they protest the denial of legal protection and request the conduct of an investigative act of exhumation to identify the chemical composition of the unknown fuel.

Lawyer Antonis Psaropoulos, father of a victim, expressed the distrust of relatives towards the judicial authorities, citing unanswered questions and delays in the judicial investigation. Legal circles emphasize that if the exhumation request is accepted, the investigation into the case should continue.
