Tempi Train Crash: Kostas Karamanlis Referred to Judicial Council

Tensions and walkouts marked the parliamentary debate on the referral of Kostas Karamanlis to the judicial council regarding the Tempi train crash.
With 157 votes in favor, it was decided to refer the former Minister of Transport to the judicial council to investigate the charge of breach of duty. PASOK, SYRIZA, KKE, Greek Solution, New Left, and Niki withdrew from the debate.
New Democracy maintains that no criminal liability arises from the case file, while the opposition denounced manipulations by the government majority.
During the session, tensions arose between Zoe Konstantopoulou and the Vice-Presidents of Parliament, as well as the intervention of Tzorztzia Kefala, who sang lyrics from the song "Kivotos."
ND parliamentary representative Notis Mitarakis stated that the judicial council will judge whether the minister's actions correspond to his duties.
The political leaders of the opposition used harsh expressions, denouncing an attempt to cover up the case.
