Close Vote Expected on Postal Voting for Greeks Abroad

A close vote is expected on the Ministry of Interior's bill to facilitate the participation of Greeks abroad in national elections, following SYRIZA's decision not to support the proposed regulations.
The focus is on the postal vote provision, as the required majority of 200 MPs does not appear to exist for the three-seat overseas electoral district.
According to party statements, 188 MPs from New Democracy and PASOK are expected to vote in favor of facilitating postal voting for Greeks abroad.
Zoe Konstantopoulou stated that she would vote against the three-seat district but would consider a positive vote on postal voting. Plefsis Eleftherias has 5 MPs, who, if they vote positively, would raise the majority to 193. The remaining votes are being sought from the 27 independents.
Support is expected from Haris Katsivardas and Kostas Floros. According to reports, former Prime Minister Antonis Samaras will vote in favor of all provisions. A positive vote is also expected from the 4 independent MPs affiliated with Stefanos Kasselakis, as well as Kyriaki Malama and Bourhan Baran.
KKE, New Left, Hellenic Solution, and Niki have stated that they will not support the regulations, while SYRIZA has decided to abstain.
