Tsiaras: Everyone Will Return the Money to OPEKEPE

The Minister of Rural Development and Food, Kostas Tsiaras, stated that all illegal subsidies from OPEKEPE will be returned, and those responsible will face criminal charges. Speaking on ERT, Mr. Tsiaras described the problem as chronic, starting from the 1980s.

The minister emphasized that payments for organic beekeeping and livestock farming have been suspended, and extensive audits are underway. He also mentioned that the Economic Police extracted data from OPEKEPE, delaying payments.

Mr. Tsiaras assured that the government will not cover up anyone and that all responsibilities will be investigated. He reiterated the Prime Minister's mandate to restore the credibility of OPEKEPE and end the opacity.
