Hatzidakis: 25 Reforms Planned for the Second Half of the Year

Deputy Prime Minister Kostis Hatzidakis stated that the government has planned 25 reforms for the second half of the year. The statements were made on ERT, where Mr. Hatzidakis also referred to reports by former minister Tasos Yiannitsis regarding the accuracy of statistics on the Greek economy.
Mr. Hatzidakis responded that these claims are inaccurate and nationally dangerous, emphasizing the autonomy of ELSTAT and its cooperation with EUROSTAT. He also referred to a public statement by the Governor of the Bank of Greece, Mr. Yannis Stournaras, who denied any issue of inaccuracy.
Regarding the polls, Mr. Hatzidakis noted that it is logical for the government to experience a decline in polls in the middle of its four-year term, but New Democracy continues to lead by a significant margin. He stressed that the government should focus on promoting reforms.
Regarding migration flows in Crete, the Deputy Prime Minister stated that there has been a noticeable decrease compared to 2024, due to strict surveillance and the granting of asylum. The possibility of creating a migration structure in Crete, in consultation with local authorities, was also discussed.
