Zachariadis: Justification for supporting Doukas for Mayor of Athens

Kostas Zachariadis, a SYRIZA member, states he feels vindicated in his decision to support Haris Doukas for Mayor of Athens, two years after Doukas' administration was sworn in.

Referring to the approval by the Athens City Council of the Transport Study and the submission of a proposal to OASA for the operation of a municipal transport system in the seven districts of the Municipality of Athens, Kostas Zachariadis notes that the decision to support and the subsequent critical support of the "Athens NOW" faction are justified.

Zachariadis emphasizes that Haris Doukas' mayorship is an honest effort that daily fights the city's problems from the citizens' perspective.

The establishment of municipal transport is a standing demand of the Open City, to serve areas not covered by the central lines, as an axis of sustainable mobility. The Open City will contribute with proposals for the best implementation of the project.
