Alekos Syssovitis: "My mother had psychological problems from a young age"

Actor Alekos Syssovitis spoke about the psychological problems his mother faced from a young age. In an interview, Syssovitis recalled accompanying his mother to doctors while other children played.

"My mother had psychological problems from a young age, and I was with her at the doctors from 8-10 years old. When she died, she had Alzheimer's. I was the last one she forgot," he said.

The actor also spoke about the values his parents passed on to him, describing them as proud and common people who grew up during the war and faced many difficulties.

"Dignity, honesty, pride, hard work, high morals, not to bend in life and to always be combative on the front lines. These are the materials I strongly hold from my family," he noted.

He also referred to his parents' origin, noting that his father was from Epirus and his mother was Pontian from Kozani. They met in Athens and moved to Thessaloniki.
