Ciao, Giorgos Marinos: A look at his life and career

Giorgos Marinos, an iconic figure in Greek television and entertainment, has passed away. His career included successful shows on ERT and ANT1, leaving his mark on Greek television.

Giorgos Marinos hosted shows such as "Giorgos Marinos Show" (ERT, 1976), "A Show with Giorgos Marinos" (ERT, 1982), "Zooumpiz" (ET-1, 1997), and "Squares of the Stars". From 1994 to 1996, he hosted "Ciao ANT1", succeeding Roula Koromila.

In "Ciao ANT1", directed by Megaklis Vintiadis and choreographed by Fokas Evangelinos, Marinos sang, danced, and gave the motto "Go wild, sergeants!". The show featured major names in the Greek artistic scene, such as Aliki Vougiouklaki, Rena Vlachopoulou, and many others.

Pavlos Agiannidis revealed that Marinos had chosen him to write his biography, which would "invalidate all those who will try to kiss me after my death."

Giorgos Sampatakakis, an academic, noted that Marinos never hid and was never influenced by the "ethnoflygest narratives of homophobia."
