Actress Melpo Zarokosta Passes Away at 93

Actress Melpo Zarokosta has passed away at the age of 93. She was a significant figure in Greek theater and cinema.

In recent times, her health had deteriorated, and she was being cared for in a specialized center. Since late 2024, she resided in the Athens Nursing Home due to dementia-related issues.

Her funeral will take place at the First Cemetery of Athens on Tuesday, January 20th, at 13:00.

Born in Piraeus in 1933, Melpo Zarokosta studied acting and worked in film, theater, and television. She was also an author of plays and children's books.
