Aris Davarakis: 'Being Gay Meant I Primarily Looked at Boys'

Lyricist and journalist Aris Davarakis discussed his sexuality on the show "Kalytera Arga," explaining that his statement about being gay meant he was primarily attracted to boys.
Referring to the time he made the public statement, he said: "I was a very quiet case, a monogamous type. When Malvina interviewed me and I openly said I was gay, my friend, my girlfriend, asked me, 'Should we put it in the title?'. Let's put it, I said, why not? I wasn't the first to say it, but I remember some people struggling with the issue."
He then commented: "I didn't expect anything. Maybe this autism was a blessing in the end. Because I didn't expect, let's say, that something would block me because I would say this thing or that I would pay for it in some way. It was a reality for me that I primarily looked at boys, that's what I meant when I said I was gay."
Aris Davarakis also spoke about the allure of flirting and how AIDS affected his circle of friends.
