She announced her separation on November 8 via Instagram, explaining that it was not her intention to publicize such a personal matter, but she did so to avoid rumors and misinformation.

In her post, Despoina Kampouri mentioned that she was under pressure from journalists and added that she and Vangelis Tarasiadis had lived beautiful years full of love and respect.

Regarding the divorce, she stated: "It is a new condition, a condition that many people live, but you know it is a subject that I do not like to discuss publicly, at least at this stage. If I feel ready at some point, I will discuss it."
