Dimitris Samolis: 'It was more bitter that my father accepted me when the public accepted me'

Actor and singer Dimitris Samolis spoke on the show #ToΠρωινό with Giorgos Liagas about his career and the difficulties he faced in gaining his father's acceptance of his career.
Dimitris Samolis, known for his participation in #ΆγριεςΜέλισσες (Wild Bees), referred to his beginnings in theater and his father's initial reaction. As he said, his father was not happy when he learned that he would be acting in #ΜελωδίαΤηςΕυτυχίας (The Sound of Music) and made it a condition that he be an excellent student.
'I was so eager not to be cut off from the theater that I became an excellent student,' he said characteristically.
The actor expressed his bitterness about the fact that his father only began to accept his career when he became known to the general public. 'For me, it was more bitter that he accepted me when the general public accepted me. Acceptance must come before, not after,' he said.
He also mentioned that he feels awkward when performing in front of his own people, while revealing that his father has not watched his current performance.
