Giorgos Dalaras, in an interview with Melodia 99.2, criticized the Greek record industry, reiterating his recent statements about Greek singers. An excerpt from his interview was broadcast on the show 'Kalokairino Rantevou'.

'In my time, when you went out to sing, you couldn't sing without being properly tuned. You couldn't if you were out of tune,' said Giorgos Dalaras.

Referring to the film 'Yparxo' about Kazantzidis, Dalaras commented: 'I saw the film about Kazantzidis, I thought it was a good effort... Those who make films about the lives of some people should be very careful'.

Furthermore, he expressed his opinion about young singers: 'Many young singers get plastic surgery, become people of the night and put impurities in their mouths and these will come out in the microphones. I don't want these people'.

In closing, Giorgos Dalaras stressed: 'I get criticized for talking about the garbage of the record industry. Why shouldn't I talk? After all, half of the songs are garbage'.
