Maria Korinthiou: 'Publicity was never a lure for me'
Maria Korinthiou clarified that publicity and financial gains have never been a criterion for her professional choices. As she said, she remains focused on what she really wants to do.
In statements on the show 'Rantevou to SK', the actress spoke about her television choices and her attitude towards the proposals she receives. She specifically mentioned that she has rejected proposals with significant amounts of money.
'I'm not putting an end to television. I have received some proposals. Some were very good, but I want to focus on very specific things. I am very sure of myself and what exactly I want to do professionally. Publicity was never a lure for me. Neither was the financial aspect,' said Maria Korinthiou.
Speaking about the television landscape, the actress noted: 'Vidcasts are the evolution. I believe that shows have now taken on too much of a structure of attack and gossip. There is nonsense on television, but there is also in the theater. I think that's how they try to become part of modern Greek society, but we forget a little about education.'
Regarding the compromises one might make on a television show, Maria Korinthiou stated: 'I think some people on shows are patient because they are employees. Obviously, some compromises are made because everyone judges at that moment that they don't want to speak, take a position, and swallow things.'
