Marina Satti spoke to Jenny Balatsinou at the #WomensForum about her childhood thoughts regarding her father's origin.

The singer confessed that in her childhood she felt ashamed and afraid because her father was from Sudan and black. She characteristically stated: "I remember being ashamed because my dad is black and is from Sudan and I remember him coming to pick me up from tutoring and thinking 'my classmates will see him' and I was ashamed and afraid and I didn't know how they would take it."

Satti also referred to her own reaction to stereotypes and limitations, emphasizing that she now tries to focus on what she feels and believes.

On the show #HappyDay, Stamatina Tsimtsili commented on Marina Satti's statement, emphasizing that Greece has moved forward and there are no longer taboos and prejudices.
