Matthew McConaughey: Son's Question Led to Marriage Decision

Matthew McConaughey revealed that he decided to marry Camila Alves after an unexpected question from their son, Levi.

In an interview on the Modern Wisdom podcast, McConaughey mentioned that Levi, at the age of 4, asked him why his mother did not have the same last name.

This question, combined with a discussion with a pastor, led the actor to the decision to propose to Alves in 2011. The couple met in 2006 and married in 2012, already having two children, Levi (born 2008) and Vida (born 2010).

McConaughey and Alves welcomed their third child, Livingston, in late 2012.
