Mitsotakis: "Why not Emily in Athens?"

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis has once again mentioned the popular series Emily in Paris, leaving open the possibility of a Greek spin-off titled "Emily in Athens."
In statements to Alpha TV, Mr. Mitsotakis linked the series to the strategy of attracting major international productions to Greece, saying: "Emily in Paris, why not Emily in Athens, who knows, maybe the 6th season will hold surprises, but you know, nothing is accidental."
He also referred to the government's efforts to attract more productions to Greece, through financial incentives and personal relationships, in order to promote the country on subscription platforms.
The Prime Minister's reference to Emily in Paris is not new. In January 2024, he stated on The 2night Show that he watches the series with his wife, Mareva Grabowski-Mitsotakis, to relax.
The statement even reached The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, where the star of the series, Lily Collins, humorously commented on the Greek Prime Minister's statements.
