Jack Schlossberg, nephew of John F. Kennedy Jr., has expressed outrage over Ryan Murphy's series "American Love Story," which focuses on his uncle's marriage to Carolyn Bessette.

In an Instagram post, Schlossberg accused Murphy of "making millions off the public display of a family tragedy" and not honoring the legacy of John F. Kennedy Jr.

Schlossberg's reaction was triggered by a statement from Murphy that he found it "strange that Schlossberg is angry about a relative he doesn't even remember." Schlossberg responded by describing memories of his uncle.

Schlossberg accuses Murphy of not contacting the family about the series and of commercially exploiting the memory of JFK Jr. He asks that part of the profits be donated to the Kennedy Library.

Murphy responded publicly with "I will," implying that he will contribute financially.

The series "American Love Story" is expected to air in 2026 on FX and Hulu, with Paul Kelly and Sarah Pidgeon in the roles of John F. Kennedy Jr. and Carolyn Bessette respectively.

John F. Kennedy Jr., his wife Carolyn Bessette, and her sister, Lauren Bessette, were killed in a plane crash in 1999.
