Will Nicolas Cage Star in the New Season of 'True Detective'?

Nicolas Cage is close to a deal to star in the 5th season of HBO's 'True Detective,' according to Variety. Details of the season are being kept under wraps, but the story will be set in the Jamaica Bay area of New York.
According to Deadline, Cage is in talks to take on the role of Henry Logan, a detective who takes on a central case. The deal has not been finalized, but if completed, Cage would be the latest A-lister to join the series, following Matthew McConaughey, Woody Harrelson, Colin Farrell, Rachel McAdams, and Mahershala Ali.
This would be Cage's second starring role in a series, following the announcement that he will play Spider-Man Noir in a live-action series for MGM+ and Amazon Prime Video, scheduled to premiere in 2026.
Issa López returns as writer and showrunner. The fourth season of 'True Detective' was the most popular to date, with 12.7 million viewers.
