Sean Penn Receives 'Oscar' Made from Ukrainian Train Car Steel

Actor Sean Penn, who was in Ukraine, received a special 'Oscar' from the Ukrainian railway company Ukrzaliznytsia. The award is made from the steel of a Ukrainian train car destroyed in a Russian attack.
Ukrzaliznytsia posted a video on Instagram showing Sean Penn receiving the award, a thin piece of metal sheet in the shape of an Oscar. According to the company, this steel once transported thousands of people and was then attacked by Russian missiles.
Sean Penn, known for his support of Ukraine, had offered one of his Oscars to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in 2022. He did not attend the Oscars ceremony in Los Angeles, preferring to visit Ukraine again.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy called Sean Penn a 'true friend' of the Ukrainian people, recognizing his support from the first day of the war.
