In a post on X, Roupos wrote: "In the fascist comments on my socials, it's circulating as a fact out of nowhere, with a racist undertone, that I am Albanian. Unfortunately, I am not. But it doesn't matter anyway, because these days I would rather be anything but Greek." Reactions continued under his post.
