When the Scorpions Sang Marinella in Athens

A rare musical event occurred in 1990 when the German rock band Scorpions, during their first concert in Greece, honored Marinella by performing one of her greatest hits.
During their concert at the Peace and Friendship Stadium in Athens, the Scorpions' singer, Klaus Meine, performed the song «Agapi Mou» («Tha 'thela na isoun»), creating an unexpected and touching moment.
Marinella, one of the most important voices in Greek song, passed away at the age of 87, leaving behind a huge artistic legacy. Her funeral will take place tomorrow, Tuesday, March 31, at the Athens Metropolitan Cathedral.
