Sofia Kourtidou: Health scare and gallbladder removal

Sofia Kourtidou underwent gallbladder removal surgery after a severe indisposition led her to an Athens hospital.

The singer was diagnosed with acute cholecystitis and underwent immediate surgery. In a video posted on social media on Saturday, August 23, Sofia Kourtidou described the intense pain she felt in her stomach and back, which led her to the emergency room.

As she explained, doctors found stones in her gallbladder, one of which had blocked the cystic duct, causing inflammation. The surgery was deemed necessary, and the gallbladder was removed.

Sofia Kourtidou stated that she feels lucky and grateful, despite the 'misfortunes' that happened to her this summer, and that this adventure made her want to take better care of her body. She also thanked people for their wishes and love.
