Christos Valavanidis: Farewell with Poetry and Music
A touching farewell ceremony was held for the actor Christos Valavanidis, who passed away at the age of 82. The ceremony took place at the Ritsona Crematorium.
His wife, Aspasia Kralli, recited poems he had written himself, while his daughter, Katerina, read poems she wrote during the actor's hospitalization at Laiko Hospital.
The ceremony was held to the sounds of Manos Hatzidakis's Ā«Gioconda's SmileĀ». Relatives, friends, and colleagues of the actor were present.
On behalf of the Union of Greek Actors, Spyros Bibilas spoke about the deceased. Christos Valavanidis had been facing health problems, especially with his heart, recently.
Among others, Dimitris Piatas and Dimitris Frangioglou attended the ceremony.
