Adoptions in Greece have increased, according to recent data. The Minister of Social Cohesion and Family, Domna Michailidou, emphasized the improved transparency and speed in the process, through the National Registry of Adoptions and Foster Care (anynet.gr).

Michailidou stated that 90% of children for adoption come from abusive environments, requiring special preparation. She also highlighted that many prospective parents set specific requirements that do not match the profile of children in institutions.

A 48-year-old single parent, Panagiotis, shared his experience, describing his son's adoption as "a miracle." Despite delays, he remained determined and advises prospective parents to be patient.

Vaso Talantzi, a social worker, emphasized the importance of preparing prospective parents and supporting children during the process.
