Gaia Mercuri: Harassment Incident in Athens

Gaia Mercuri, daughter of Dorothea Mercuri, reported a harassment incident she experienced in the center of Athens. As she stated in an interview, a man followed her from a supermarket to her home and was masturbating behind her.

Gaia Mercuri described the incident in "OK!" magazine, emphasizing that she felt shocked and scared. She pointed out that street harassment can take many forms and called on women never to wonder if they are to blame in such cases. "Never wonder if you are to blame when you are harassed. It's never our fault," she stated.

Gaia Mercuri also referred to her experiences growing up in the center of Athens, where she has experienced several unpleasant situations. "I grew up in the center of Athens, so I have certainly lived through some very bad and shocking experiences with men on the street," she said.
