Sylva Akrita: Politician and Mother of Elena Akrita Passes Away

Born in Thessaloniki to parents from Asia Minor, Sylva Akrita's father was Konstantinos Giavasoglou, a senator under Eleftherios Venizelos and Minister of Welfare. Her mother, Loukia Roussidi, contributed to her upbringing in an environment knowledgeable of social needs.
