Hellenic Police and Animal Welfare Federation Meet on Animal Protection

A meeting took place between the Chief of the Hellenic Police (ELAS) and the Animal Welfare Federation "Nemesis" to strengthen animal protection. The meeting, which took place on Wednesday, was attended by police officers from the Animal Protection Department of the Social Policing Directorate and the President of the Federation, Natassa Bobolaki.

Discussions focused on issues concerning animal protection, with emphasis on intensifying police checks and strict enforcement of relevant legislation. The President of the Animal Welfare Federation stressed the importance of training police personnel on animal protection issues. The common will to co-organize information days at the General Regional Police Directorates was confirmed.

The Chief of ELAS, Lieutenant General Dimitrios Mallios, stressed that animal protection is a priority for the police and that efforts are being made to enforce the existing legislation.
