Crimean-Congo Hemorrhagic Fever: 25 Under Surveillance in Larissa

Twenty-five people in Larissa, including healthcare professionals and a farmer's family, are under surveillance due to a potential case of Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever. The doctor is being treated in a special ward at the University Hospital of Larissa.
Samples have been taken by a team from EODY and the results are pending. Samples have also been taken from 15 ticks.
The 72-year-old farmer is the second death in the country from the disease, with the first recorded in 2008. EODY is launching a public awareness campaign.
