Apostolos Christou finished sixth in the 50m backstroke at the World Aquatics Championships in Singapore, with a time of 24.59.

In his seventh individual World Championship final, the Greek Olympian improved upon his 100m performance but did not contend for a medal.

Kliment Kolesnikov (Russian athlete competing as a neutral) won first place with 23.68 (championship record), while Pavel Samusenko and Pieter Coetze shared second place with 24.17.
