The Greek Men's National Water Polo Team lost to Spain 4-2 on penalties (7-7 in regular time) in the semifinal of the World Championship in Singapore, missing the chance to advance to the final.

Despite trailing 6-2, the Greek team staged a remarkable comeback, taking the lead at 7-6. However, Spain equalized at 7-7 with 0.1'' remaining. Kakkari and Skoumpakis missed their penalties.

Thodoris Vlachos' team will compete in the bronze medal match against the loser of the Serbia-Hungary match.
