Former national coach, Panagiotis Giannakis, spoke to ERT after the Greek National Team's 94-53 victory over Georgia in EuroBasket 2025, expressing his optimism about the team's progress.

Mr. Giannakis emphasized that the National Team managed to control the game, mainly in defense, and had a very good percentage of three-pointers. He mentioned that the team tried to treat the game as a light training session, like the game against Cyprus, without losing its accuracy.

Regarding the future, Giannakis stated that the team's progress is evident and that it is important to deal with mediocre and bad performances, while evolving the game. He also stressed the importance of qualifying as first in the group.

Referring to the knockout games, he said that it is important not to lose focus and to have patience in executing the things that have been worked on.

About Giannis Antetokounmpo, Giannakis said that he reads the spaces very well and always tries to give 100% for his team, emphasizing that the best is yet to come.
