World Aquatics: Records and Qualifications for Bilas, Dountounaki, Pavlopoulou

The Greek team started successfully at the World Aquatics Championships in Singapore, with Stergios Bilas setting a national record in the 50m butterfly and qualifying for the semi-finals.

Bilas clocked 23.04, improving his own record (23.06) from the European Championships in Belgrade, and qualified with the 7th best time. He will compete in the semi-finals at 14:27.

Anna Dountounaki also qualified for the semi-finals of the 100m butterfly with a time of 57.62, finishing in 12th place. She will compete in the first semi-final heat at 14:13.

Nikol Pavlopoulou set a national record in the 200m individual medley with 2:13.85, breaking the record of Artemis Vasilaki. She finished in 24th place.

Dimitris Markos came close to the national record in the 400m freestyle with a time of 3:47.59, finishing in 17th place.

Savvas Thomoglou finished 32nd in the 100m breaststroke with 1:01.13.
