Stamatia Scarvelis: Gold at the Balkan Championship and Qualification for the World Championship!

Stamatia Scarvelis won the gold medal in hammer throw at the Balkan Championship held in Volos, securing her participation in the World Championship.

With a throw of 71.95 meters, Scarvelis achieved her career-best performance, coming close to the national record (72.10m).

The athlete, born in California to Greek parents, has chosen to compete with the Greek National Team. She participated in the Tokyo Olympics in 2021 and holds a degree in Communication and Psychology.

She has two brothers, Nikolas, a champion in shot put, and Steven, a decathlete.
