Miltiadis Tentoglou expressed concerns about the condition of the long jump pit at the Panthessaliko Stadium in Volos, Greece, during the Balkan Athletics Championships. The Olympic long jump champion performed only two jumps, fearing injury due to the hardness of the pit.

After a foul jump, Tentoglou made a valid jump of 8.07m and then stopped competing. He stated that the hard sand could lead to injury. "It was an unsuitable place to hold a competition today. If I had gone to do my jump, I would have been 100% injured. My neck could have been injured," he said.

Tentoglou stated that he will participate in the Greek National Championships at the same stadium, but only for one jump. His goal is the World Championships in Tokyo. After the competition, he signed autographs and took pictures with fans.
