Christou: "A medal is within my reach"

Apostolos Christou has qualified for the final of the 50m backstroke at the World Championships in Singapore and stated that he will do his best to win a medal.
The final will take place tomorrow, Sunday (3/8, 14:02, ERT 2). Christou emphasized that his good performance in the semi-final gives him confidence.
In his statements, Apostolos Christou said: "I achieved my main goal of being in both finals, tomorrow I will need to go above and beyond to bring the medal I want, with composure I believe it is within my capabilities and I will do my best."
He also added: "The truth is that I didn't lose my swimming at all in the end, maybe I was a little more nervous in the first meters of the race, but then I maintained a good speed and that's why I swam better than in the morning. Now I need rest and composure and above all to enjoy it, and if I operate without mistakes, the result will be what we all want."
In conclusion, he said: "Regardless of the experiences I have had over the years, the final in the 100m backstroke showed me that I need to be calm, every final is different, when you are in a second final in an event, the pressure has gone from the first, so as it happened last year in Paris, I hope to enjoy it and bring a good result."
