71-year-old maintains 50-year-old's heart with Hilliard Studio Method

Liz Hilliard, 71, maintains excellent physical condition, having, according to her doctor, the heart of a 50-year-old. This is achieved through the Hilliard Studio Method, which she developed herself.
Hilliard, with a family history of heart problems, started exercising at a young age, playing various sports. She then took up tennis and later Pilates, becoming a certified personal trainer in 2002.
In her 50s, she found that Pilates was not enough to maintain her fitness. So, she created the Hilliard Studio Method, which combines Pilates and strength training. This method, she says, strengthens the core, strengthens the spine and sculpts the body.
Hilliard exercises daily, following a program that includes 20 minutes of weight exercises (3-4 kg), 8-10 minutes of planks and push-ups, 15 minutes of leg exercises and 5 minutes for the abs. On days when she doesn't have class, she walks or bikes for at least 30 minutes.
She emphasizes the importance of movement and daily exercise to maintain good health and address the effects of aging.
"Aging doesn't have to mean poor health if we stay active every day," Hilliard concludes.
