Increased visits of patients with symptoms of gastroenteritis, sunstroke, and heat exhaustion are being recorded in A&E departments and by personal physicians, according to a report in "Fileleftheros". Charalambos Charilaou, press representative of OKYPY, stated that gastroenterological infections are mainly due to fast food consumed on beaches that is not properly stored.

Pathologist Panagiotis Demosthenous emphasized that infections are transmitted through close contact and droplets, highlighting the need to adhere to hygiene rules.

Basic guidelines for recovery:

  1. Small amounts of fluids (isotonic) frequently.
  2. Light, dry foods when there is appetite.
  3. Contact a doctor if symptoms persist.
  4. Preventive use of electrolytes and isolation measures if there is a case at home.

Dr. Demosthenous reminded that COVID-19 remains active and advised against searching for medications online, but to consult a doctor.
