American director Francis Ford Coppola has been admitted to the Tor Vergata University Hospital in Rome.

The 86-year-old director, according to Italian media, had scheduled heart surgery. After his admission, he reportedly experienced a slight cardiac arrhythmia, and doctors are monitoring his health.

Coppola, the director of films such as 'The Godfather' and 'Apocalypse Now,' is of Italian descent and is in Italy for the filming of his next movie.
