HPV: What it is and why it concerns women

HPV (Human Papillomavirus) is a virus primarily transmitted through sexual contact and affects women's health. There are over 100 strains of HPV, with some being linked to serious gynecological diseases, including cervical cancer.
Usually, the virus does not cause symptoms and resolves on its own. However, in some cases, it remains in the body and can cause cell alterations. Prevention includes regular gynecological monitoring, Pap test, HPV DNA test, and vaccination.
It is important to be informed and talk openly about HPV, as it concerns all women.
