Wrong Medication Given to Cancer Patient at University Hospital of Larissa

An alarm was raised at the University Hospital of Larissa when a cancer patient was given the wrong medication during chemotherapy. According to a hospital announcement, the nurse noticed the error and immediately stopped the procedure.

The attending physician examined the patient and found that her health was not at risk. The patient remains in the clinic and is continuing her treatment. An internal investigation (EDE) has been ordered into the incident, and the nurses have been removed from the Oncology Clinic.

Hospital Announcement:

"In the Oncology Clinic of PGN Larissa, a short time ago and during the administration of chemotherapy medication, the nurse, who was present, noticed that she was administering the wrong preparation. Immediately, she stopped the procedure and the attending physician was notified, who examined the patient and found that the medication administered posed no risk to her health. The patient remains in the clinic and her treatment continues. An urgent EDE has been ordered and the nurses have been removed from the Oncology Clinic."
