The well-known chef, who has been living permanently in Istanbul for the past few years, developed a high fever and a severe cough, leading her to seek medical attention. After the necessary examinations, doctors diagnosed pneumonia and immediately started the appropriate medication.

Maria Ekmektsioglou herself shared a message of optimism via an Instagram story from the hospital, writing: "With optimism, we overcome the difficulties to return stronger. Pneumonia, step back, we won't give in."

Attending physicians estimate that if her health remains stable, Maria Ekmektsioglou will be able to return home within the next three days.
