New Oncology Unit at «Laiko» Hospital with Donation

The six-story building of EOPYY, located at 175 Alexandras Avenue, was handed over to the General Hospital of Athens «Laiko» to be transformed into a modern Day Care Unit for oncology and hematology patients.
The handover took place at an event attended by the Minister of Health, Adonis Georgiadis, the Deputy Minister, Marios Themistokleous, and other officials.
The building, with a total area of 2,700 sq.m., will be fully renovated with a donation from the company «La Vie en Rose by Dimitra Katsafadou», aiming to serve over 200 patients on a daily basis. The concession of the property to the hospital is foreseen for 50 years, with the possibility of extension.
Adonis Georgiadis stated that the creation of the unit will solve the problem of overcrowding of oncology patients at the hospital. Nikolaos Malakodimos, president of «La Vie En Rose», expressed his hope that patients will be relieved.
