New Lung Cancer Treatments with Greek Scientific Contribution

An innovative immunotherapy for lung cancer, with Greek contribution, was presented at the American Oncology Conference. This is one of the largest clinical studies worldwide, with Greek participation.

Many Greek centers participated in the clinical study, under the coordination of the Director of the 4th Oncology Clinic and Clinical Studies Unit of the Henry Dunant Hospital, Ioannis Mountzios, who is the first author and principal investigator.

The findings open new therapeutic avenues for small cell lung cancer, an aggressive form of lung cancer that accounts for 15-20% of new diagnoses.
