The Blood Donation Department of PAGNI Hospital is forced to reduce external blood donations by 50% due to severe staff shortages. The head of the department, Ms. Vana Lydaki, stated to patris.gr that the cuts will lead to significant blood losses.

The understaffing also leads to the closure of the facility in Daskalogianni Square every Tuesday afternoon. Dimitris Vrysalis, president of the Hospital Workers' Union, stressed that scheduled blood donations are being postponed due to lack of staff.

The hospital administration has been informed about the problem for months and has been requested to reinforce the department with 2 doctors and 3 non-medical staff.
