Five Practical Tips to Avoid Weight Gain This Summer

Summer vacations are a time for relaxation, but also nutritional challenges. Marietta Markousi, a clinical dietitian-nutritionist, offers five practical tips to avoid unwanted weight gain:
1. Fruits in Moderation: Enjoy seasonal fruits, but control the quantity. One fruit should not exceed the size of a cup. Watermelon is a good choice due to its high water content.
2. Salad at the Tavern: Greek salad is ideal, as long as you watch the quantities. One to two tomatoes, 90 grams of cheese, and limited use of olive oil (one tablespoon).
3. Ice Cream Wisely: One scoop of ice cream as a snack is acceptable. Avoid parfaits.
4. Smart Breakfast: Choose breakfasts rich in fiber to activate your metabolism. Milk with oats and honey or a smoothie with almond milk and fruit are good options.
5. Fiber Against Constipation: Include fruits, green salads, vegetables, and legumes in your diet. Replace white bread with whole wheat bread.
