Metropolitan General implements the innovative HoLEP/MoLEP surgical technique for treating prostate conditions. Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) is a common condition affecting millions of men, causing symptoms such as frequent urination and reduced urine flow.

The HoLEP (Holmium Laser Enucleation of the Prostate) technique is a minimally invasive method that uses a laser to remove hypertrophic prostate tissue, without external incisions and with minimal bleeding. MoLEP, the most advanced form of HoLEP, utilizes Moses 2.0 technology for greater precision.

Mr. George Sakellariou, Urologist, Director of the 2nd Urology Clinic of Metropolitan General, explains that HoLEP is indicated for the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia, regardless of size, as well as for patients taking anticoagulant medication.

The benefits of the method include minimal bleeding, rapid recovery, and a reduced chance of repeat surgery. Metropolitan General is one of the few hospitals in Greece that has Lumenis Moses 2.0 technology.
