Russian Cancer Vaccine Shows Success in Preclinical Trials

A Russian cancer vaccine has successfully passed preclinical trials, according to Veronika Skvortsova, head of the Federal Medical-Biological Agency of Russia.
In an interview with Izvestia newspaper, Skvortsova stated that the vaccine is ready for use and awaiting approval from the Russian Ministry of Health. Trials have demonstrated safety and high efficacy, with a 60% to 80% reduction in tumor size and growth rate, as well as increased survival rates.
The vaccine will initially be used for colon cancer, with research underway for glioblastoma and melanoma. The Agency has submitted the necessary documents for clinical trial authorization since June.
Alexander Gintsburg, creator of the Sputnik vaccine, mentioned that the first group of melanoma patients will begin receiving the vaccine in an experimental stage within September-October. The anti-cancer vaccine is a collaboration of various scientific teams.
