Serum layering is a method to enhance the effectiveness of your skincare routine. The goal is to maximize active ingredients while avoiding irritation.

Steps for Serum Layering:

  1. Apply the lightest, watery serums first, followed by richer textures.
  2. Use no more than two or three serums.
  3. Apply serums to slightly damp skin.
  4. Allow 30–60 seconds between each layer.

Combinations:

  • Vitamin C in the morning, Retinol in the evening.
  • AHA/BHA and Retinol on different days.
  • Hyaluronic Acid enhances hydration.

After serums, use moisturizer and sunscreen in the morning.

Routine:

  1. Cleansing (and toner).
  2. Serum #1 (e.g., Hyaluronic Acid).
  3. Serum #2 (e.g., Vitamin C or Niacinamide).
  4. Optional Serum #3.
  5. Moisturizer.
  6. SPF in the morning.

Following these steps creates an effective skincare routine.
