A positive development has occurred in the case of the 25-year-old resident doctor who contracted meningitis. The young doctor, who was being treated in the ICU of PAGNI, has been released from intensive care and transferred to a clinic at the University Hospital for recovery.
According to statements by the director of the ICU, Professor Ευμορφία Κονδύλη, to patris.gr, the 25-year-old "overcame the danger, was extubated, and is already undergoing recovery in a clinic at the University Hospital."
The doctor, who was specializing at the Agios Nikolaos hospital, presented symptoms such as severe dizziness, headache, and high fever on January 15. Initially, she was transferred to the Emergency Department, but due to the lack of an available ICU bed in Agios Nikolaos, it was deemed necessary to transfer her to Heraklion, where she was diagnosed with meningitis.
